*Rethinking Eating Disorders: The Role of Identity in Clinical Understanding and Care*

Eating disorders are often misunderstood as conditions that primarily affect cisgender,
heterosexual, white women, which contributes to the under-recognition of these concerns across
diverse identities and populations. This training challenges that narrative by examining eating
disorders through a biopsychosocial and multicultural lens, with particular attention to how
minority stress and identity-related factors shape the development and maintenance of disordered
eating. Attendees will gain an overview of eating disorder presentations, including forms that are
    frequently overlooked or considered atypical.

Attendees will be introduced to practical, evidence-based strategies for diagnosis, case conceptualization, and intervention. Through applied examples, attendees will strengthen their ability to deliver affirming, culturally responsive, and effective care for individuals experiencing eating disorders in diverse communities
